English language Centre

The English Language School at St. Angela’s College is dedicated to providing quality, dynamic and affordable English language training.  We offer a wide range of services throughout the year from academic English preparation courses to conversational and activity-based learning.

Our Academic English Language Foundation Programme is specifically tailored for International students in advance of their third level studies.  Our dedicated and experienced teachers use a variety of teaching styles and a mix of innovative and traditional methods to enhance the learning experience of our students.  As part of the English Foundation Programme, we prepare students for the English Test for Academic and Professional Purposes (ETAPP), recognised for entry into the universities and third level colleges in Ireland.

Throughout the year we organise a series of excursions, which are designed to give students both an opportunity to use their new language skills and to develop an awareness of Irish culture.  We also have a calendar of ongoing social evenings where all of our students can gather and learn about Irish culture in an informal setting.

Student Support Services

The International Student Services provides a wide range of supports to our International students to enable them to settle in and adjust to their new environment.

We recognise that living independently, away from home and in a new culture is a challenging experience and so, we offer the practical advice needed to adapt into College life and the surrounding area.  We ensure that students feel welcome, safe, secure and content during their stay.

When you arrive, you will take part in our orientation programme where you will meet college staff, have a tour of the college facilities and an International Support Tutor will be at hand to answer your questions and any initial concerns or worries you may have.

We are a small college which allows us to work in close co-operation with the Teaching staff at the college to ensure you gain the maximum benefits academically, culturally and personally from the course itself.

We organise outings to areas of scenic, cultural and historic interest. These trips provide an opportunity for students to socialise, develop an awareness of Irish culture and a familiarity with the country.

International students can also avail of the full range of support services available to all Students at St. Angela’s College.
