Beautiful Ireland

Share:

Ireland’s dramatic land, sky and seascapes will take your breath away.

We’ve got magical castles, enchanted ruins, ancient archaeology and thousands of miles of windswept coastline, with some of the most beautiful beaches, highest sea cliffs and biggest waves in Europe.

From Dublin’s elegant Georgian Squares to County Clare’s beautiful and barren limestone-poured Burren, anywhere in Ireland, you’ll only ever be a short trip away from green grass, stone walls and twisty country roads, as the rugged, dramatic vistas of the west, like Connemara and Donegal, give way to the bustling lakelands and waterways of the River Shannon or the pretty pastoral landscapes, lush dairy-land and thriving fishing villages of the south and east.

Sight Seeing in Ireland

Outside Ireland’s buzzing cities and towns, miles and miles of unexplored terrain make it the perfect place to get away from it all – in a country that’s got more cattle and almost as many sheep as people!

Our ancient landscape is home to several UNESCO World Heritage, including the Giant's Causeway, a geological wonder, with over 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, steeped in myth and legend; Skellig Michael a monastic complex, perched since about the 7th century on the steep sides of a rocky island some 12 km off the coast of south-west Ireland; and Brú na Bóinne (the palace of the Boyne) the largest and one of the most important prehistoric megalithic sites in Europe, with passage graves and structures older than the pyramids!Hill scene

The Rough Guide says: “Among the romantic preconceptions visitors bring to Ireland, it is their expectations of the landscape that are most likely to be fulfilled and indeed surpassed.”
